my favorite holiday

This is me and Ryan Praetorius, the placekicker for the Buckeyes, last weekend after the game in Columbus.  He was 6-for-6 on point after attempts vs. the Wolverines.  It was, as my Dad pointed out, a lambasting.  Ryan said his career long field goal, in a game, was something like 51 or maybe 53 yards.  He never had a chance for one that day, OSU just drove it in to the end zone again and again.  After the gig on Friday night in Ypsilanti, I drove down to C., slept for an hour, and went to the tailgate and then the game.  By the time this picture was taken I was well into the brown liquor and deleriously tired, which may explain why I can't remember the exact numbers.  Ryan said in practice he'd hit 66 yarders, which is a long way to kick a football.  I believe he played professional rugby in South Africa before he came to the U.S.  of North America.  I went to the U of Ohio State for a year before I went to the U of Michigan.  I suppose rivalries are a good thing.   It keeps everybody honest.  Hopefully Michigan can pick up the peices and maybe someday give the Bucks some competition again.  It's more fun that way.  Roses are prettier than toilet seat lids.  All the same, you can't beat the excitement of Big 10 football on a cold November Saturday.
